The Extraordinarily Positive Career of Dana Amma Day

Few people approach life and career like Dana Amma Day.  When she enters a room, smiles form on faces, and the ol’ lyrics of Louis Armstrong from “What A Wonderful World”  come to mind: “… The colors of the rainbow, So pretty in the sky. Are also on the faces, Of people going by, I see friends shaking hands. Saying, “How do you do?” They’re really saying, “I love you…” In fact, the names of her three daughters are: Georgia aka “Rainbow,” Harmony and Lily.  Of course, I am bias, as I am her husband.

Which is not to say that Dana ignores the harsh reality of the real world.  To the contrary, as the co-founder of PositiveTV.tv, she knows better than most that the pivotal point to positive news is often its polar opposite: tragedy, greed, profit over people, disenfranchisement, and every sort of infringement and usurpation.  Those who know her, and have watched her career unfold, know she’s often the first to blast off a post railing against the latest wrong, as perceived by her or the Positive TV crew: ecocide, Brexit, fracking, Trump or sugar, which she’ll tell you would be classified as poison were scientific tests not falsified or government not compromised over the years.  Reality, by nature, involves the good and the bad.

Manifesting a revolutionary news paradigm, Dana and her team ensure that Positive TV primarily reports on what’s breaking through rather than what’s breaking down. From a local and global perspective, she would contend, there’s a huge amount happening in the world to excite and inspire us, though most of it never gets reported.  Her mission, which she takes to the helm of Positive TV as CEO, “is to reach across generations and energise us with positivity at a time when we may feel overwhelmed by the negative prognosis for the future of humanity and the planet.”

It’s a great time to be alive because this is the generation that gets to change everything,” says author Paul Hawken, words which Dana embraces.  And today, to put content to those words, she landed in Budapest, Hungary, to cover the 20th Anniversary of the Club of Budapest,  which celebrates His Holiness the Dalai Lama and world-renowned thought leaders coming together 20 years ago to sign “The Manifesto on the Spirit of Planetary Consciousness.”

With “hot spots” brought to you by PositiveTV.tv, working in association with BigC TV & Gabriel Jay Cavazos out of the U.S., Dana will sit down with and interview many of the world’s most progressive thinkers on ecology, hunger, poverty, land, food and energy: COB founder Ervin Laszlo, COB Science Director Maria Sagi, and many more.  And when she’s done, she will return to magical Avalon in Somerset, England, to carry on her mission to bring positive news to the world, advance positive brands and ideas, spearhead crowdfunding campaigns for a better world, and generate marketing and publicity for the positive things that matter.

“… Yes, I think to myself, What a wonderful world.  Oh yeah.”
