Just as the NBA bans Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life, Eggman Global’s Steve Eggleston and Dan E. Smith have come on board to Executive Produce Keith Zimmerman’s “Fast Break.” “Fast Break” is a ground-breaking documentary on the social impact that basketball has played worldwide in removing race barriers from sports… though obviously, some racism persists on some levels.  Central to the early part of the story is the “Berg Ball.” This is the original basketball used in the basketball finals of the 1936 Nazi Germany Olympics. That is the same year that young, African-American Jesse Owens took home 4 gold medals in the face of Adolph Hitler after attending segregated Ohio State University, at which he broke 3 world records in the NCAA field and track events. Keith Zimmerman has spent his life preparing to tell this story, with support and comradery by legends like basketball great Oscar Robertson. “This will be a ground-breaking and earth-shattering story,” Eggleston said, “because of the untold stories it will unveil, and the myths it will explode. 7x Grammy-winner Steve Thompson will produce the soundtrack CD, and music impresario Larry D. Henderson will will join in an Executive Producer capacity. Read here for information about the “Berg ball.”
